Finding Your Purpose
Knowing why you are here and what your purpose is brings such fulfillment and passion
in life. We all want that don’t we? Wouldn’t it be great to wake up each morning with the excitement of
spending another day doing what you are meant to be doing? To know that you are here for a reason. That life is more than just struggling to pay
bills or looking after children? Well, guess what? We all have a purpose in life. Sometimes things get a
little complicated and we lose site of the bigger picture. We all need to slow down, take some time out and
get back to the reason we are here in the first place. So, sit down with a pen and some paper and ask
yourself these questions:
- What do I most want to contribute to the world? What are my values (see article:
Values)?
- What have I contributed so far? What things have brought me the most fulfillment
in my life?
- What would I do in my life if money and fear were not
obstacles?
- When am I most myself?
- When I am 80 years old, looking back over my life, what will I feel good
about?
- At my funeral, what will I most hope that others say about my
life?
- What things have I always hoped to achieve in my life? Make a
list.
- What things do you keep being drawn to?
- What do you do without effort?
- What activities do you enjoy so much that you lose track of
time?
Is there a theme running through the answers you wrote?
If you are still stuck, perhaps you would benefit from
listening to a visualisation that gets you in touch with your higher self.
