Affirming Your Worth & Value

At the core of your being, you are worthy. You are valuable, loveable and equal to everyone on earth. No problem, behaviour or event can reduce your value as a person. How do you feel when you read this? Do you believe you are worthy? Do you know in your core that you have value? If you really cannot answer in the affirmative, then this exercise is for you.

Recall a time in your life when you felt good about yourself; when you felt that human worth was real and you had a piece of it. Recall what it felt like to be okay for who you are, regardless of faults and failings, mistakes and bad judgements. Take a deep breath and relax. Allow yourself this moment to get in touch with your self-worth. Create an image of your value as a human being. You might imagine it as a warm glowing light shining deep within you. Or perhaps a diamond glistening and sparkling. Or you may visualise a person looking at you and telling you that you are important, valuable, precious and worthy. Perhaps someone made you feel valued in your life: a teacher, a neighbour, a friend or relative. If you cannot think of anyone in particular, imagine the most loving person standing behind you with their hand resting on your shoulder, and hear them saying: “You are worthy…You are valued, important, special.” Take a moment to let these words sink in to the depths of your being.

Everyday, connect with your core worth. Choose a time and place where you can visualise your innate value and worth. It might be while lying in bed as you wake up. Or it could be in a special place in your house (a sacred place). Or perhaps in your car as you head off to work. By doing this everyday in the same place, you will begin to associate that place with feelings of worthiness. Your connection to your core worth will gain power. And most importantly, you will begin to believe that you do have value and worth.

For those who can't quite accept this, please practice this exercise anyway and eventually you will break through the negative layer of muck that is covering your beautiful diamond within.
