Who is Barb Aasen? Born in Vancouver, Canada, Barb has chosen Australia as her second home. A pursuer and teacher of personal growth and self-awareness, Barb believes in empowering herself and others to live a life that honours and embraces who you are at your core.

 

What I give: Thoughts, ideas, new ways of looking at life, challenges, hope, support, love, care, understanding and compassion. I lead others on the path to inner peace and contentment.

What I’ve done:

Lived self-sufficiently on an island off the coast of Queensland

Travelled up and down the Eastern and Southern coasts of Australia, along the highways and byways of England, New Zealand, Canada and the USA

Sailed from Fiji to Brisbane

Spent 4 months in and around the Caribbean islands

Ran a youth hostel in Port Arthur, Tasmania

Taught English in a small city in China

Lost my mum to Alzheimer’s

Skied, roller-bladed, swam, biked, danced, played guitar, camped, canoed, caravanned

Learned meditation and yoga

Nurtured dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, other people’s children

Grown flowers, trees, shrubs and vegetables

Walked, jogged, hiked, wandered, strolled, hitch-hiked, taken trains, buses, boats, ferries, planes

Gotten married, divorced and married again

Laughed, cried, screamed, sulked, hurt, hurt others

Been happy, depressed, fearful, joyous, angry.

My dreams:

Barb currently lives in Brisbane, Australia with her husband, Tony. She runs her own private practice: Woman to Woman Counselling, and specialises in stress relief, relaxation strategies, building self-esteem, relationship issues and emotional healing.
